Super Bowl Sunday is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated days in all of February. Even if your favorite NFL team didn’t make it to the final showdown, it’s a day worth celebrating. Friends, families, and even total strangers gather around big-screen TVs and bowls of tortilla chips to see which team will fight to the end. Whether you’re hosting or attending a Super Bowl 50 party this year, we hope you’ll use good judgement and make smart choices that keep you safe. Here’s a few ways to ensure that you and your guests have a fun and safe day:

Have designated drivers

Where there’s football, there’s usually beer. As a party host, make sure you take on the responsibility of seeing that each guest gets home safely. If you are going to a party as a guest, plan ahead so you don’t get on the road while intoxicated.

Provide plenty of food

Super Bowl parties are great because everyone seems to bring delicious, tasty snacks. Make sure there is enough food to go around so guests can chow down during the game. This will help keep spirits light and reduce the effects of alcohol for those drinking.

Keep the rivalry friendly

We hope the people attending your party arrive with great attitudes, but keep an eye on the die-hard fans. Try and strategically place the Panther fans on the opposite side of the room as the Broncos fans, just in case the rivalry turns heated.

Offer plenty of drinks (besides alcohol)

While there’s nothing wrong with offering an array of alcoholic beverages, be sure to offer water, tea, coffee, and soda as well. This will provide more variety and keep your guests from drinking too much, too quickly.

Never serve alcohol to minors

Large parties with several guests make it easier for minors to sneak alcoholic beverages from their parents. Make sure you are never serving to someone under 21 years of age. Keep an eye on the beverage station so the young party guests know you are serious.

Overall, make sure you have a fun day with friends and family. Just remember to keep your guard up and be on the lookout for activity that could lead to a safety issue. We hope you’ll keep Boughter Sinak, LLC in the loop and share about your Super Bowl party on the Boughter Law Facebook page.
