Allen County SPCA

Money Raised/Donated: $2,500

If you know our firm, you know that our rescue dog, Siegfried the Great (Ziggy), is a big part of the Boughter Sinak, LLC family. While Ziggy’s story had a happy ending, many cats and dogs remain in Allen County shelters with no place to call home. Additionally, many pet owners in our community don’t always have the resources to provide the best life for their furry friends. During the 2018 holiday season, we teamed up with the Allen County SPCA to raise funds and awareness for these animals in need.

About the Allen County SPCA

Since 1950, the Allen County SPCA has been a safe haven for surrendered pets, strays, and animals facing euthanasia in municipal shelters. What many don’t know is that their work goes far beyond the walls of their shelter. The organization runs hundreds of outreach events each year to promote pet adoption and help local pet owners with their pet care needs. They accomplish this with a volunteer workforce and no government funding.

The unique services that the Allen County SPCA provides help keep pets in their homes and out of shelters. The organization offers a weekly pet food bank for local owners along with volunteers who assist pet parents with difficulty walking their dogs or taking pets to appointments. The SPCA’s progressive “Pet Promises” initiative even provides free or low-cost vaccine clinics, spay/neuter surgeries, veterinary assistance, and everyday essentials that pets need but owners can’t always afford. For difficult situations, the organization’s Compassionate Foster Program finds emergency pet foster housing for dogs and cats who are recovering from illness as well as pet owners who desperately need temporary housing for their four-legged family members.

What we did

That’s a lot to do while operating on a strictly donation-based budget. To support this amazing group, we launched the Santa Paws campaign. During December 2018, we pledged to donate $10 for every “like” we received on our Facebook page. To get the word out, we posted pictures and profiles of some of Allen County SPCA’s most eligible animals, encouraging fans to like our page and consider adoption during the holiday season.

The campaign was a home run. We received over 250 likes resulting in our goal of $2,500! Better yet, 17 of the pets received the greatest gift of all: a place to call home. As animal lovers, we couldn’t be happier with our results. We had a blast raising money and awareness for the Allen County SPCA and all the great work they do for local pets and pet parents. We can’t wait to support more animal-related charities in the future.

Ziggy loved the campaign too: he rated it 5 out of 5 paws!
